How do I buy tickets?
Can I buy tickets at the gate?

Yes, unless the event is sold out prior

Do you have EFTPOS?

Yes we have EFTPOS at the ticket booth and inside the venue for cash out transactions

Do I need to print my Festival tickets?

You can present the e-tickets on your phone or tablet at the entry gate or shuttle bus pick up spots, or you can print your ticket and bring it with you. No ticket – no entry.

What is your refund policy?

What happens if the Festival is cancelled?

The event will only be cancelled if there is a state of emergency or COVID levels 2-4.

Can I bring my Pet to the Festival?

Strictly no animals. There is an exemption for assistance dogs and small dogs belonging to a registered camper ticket holder. Small dogs in the camping area must be on a lead at all times outside the motorhome/caravan/tent, and must not leave the camping area at any time for the duration of the festival.  

Assistance dogs must be declared in advance to Hootnanny management via email who, once approved, will provide an authorisation letter to be shown at the search and entry points.  

Is there any food vendors at the Festival?

Yes – we have selected a variety of food vendors with a wide range of food at reasonable prices.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

No – we have licensed bars at the venue for the purchase of alcohol. Any alcohol brought into the venue will be confiscated and disposed of by our security team.

Is there parking at the venue?

We have limited onsite general parking for the public on Friday 25th and Sunday 27th February. We will have limited VIP parking at the venue and Parawai School on Saturday 26th February which MUST be pre-purchased here.

Where do I park on Saturday?

We have FREE parking & return Shuttle buses for Ticket holders at Rhodes Park on Ngat-Maru Highway (State Highway 25) next to the Kaeuranga River bridge before the Thames town centre.

What happens if it rains?

The Festival will continue unless it is unsafe to do so which will be determined by Civil Defence. It’s summer and the weather is usually warm. There are 2 grandstands with roofs that people can shelter under to watch the bands if it does rain.

What kind of cars can enter the Car Show?

Any “special interest” USA or Australian origin cars can enter the Show

Do I need to pre-enter the Car & Big Rig Show?

Yes – please as the numbers are limited.

How do I apply to be a Food Vendor?

We are accepting Expressions of Interest for food vendors and are looking for a variety of food options at reasonable prices. Please CLICK HERE to register.

How do I apply for a Country Market site?

The Country Market is for 2 days only with onsite camping. Please CLICK HERE to apply.

How do the shuttle buses work?

Shuttle buses are provided FREE for ticket holders only. On Friday 26th February they depart the Thames Civic Centre for the Racecourse every 30 minutes and the Racecourse to the Civic Centre every 30 minutes as well.

Is there security at the Festival?

Yes – we have a reputable Security contractor and team onsite 24/7 to keep people and property safe.

Is this a Zero Waste event?

Yes – we encourage everyone to recycle, reuse or composite where possible. Campers will be required to take everything they bring and leave their campsites clean.

Can I leave the venue then come back in later?

No – There are no pass-outs at the Festival for General Admin tickets. Campers may catch the FREE return Shuttle Buses to the Thames town centre.

How big are the camp sites?

The sites are 8m x 7m with room for 1x vehicle and tent/caravan. Maximum of 4 people per site. Self-contained camper sites are various sizes and also limited to 4 people per site.

Can I take my vehicle out of the Campground once I’ve set up my campsite?

No – We are required to limit vehicle movements at the venue under our Resource Consent conditions. We provide FREE return shuttle buses into the Thames town centre for all campers so you can leave your car at your campsite. Cars entered in the Car Show on Saturday morning can drive to the Car Show area from the Campground.
